Post Details :

The following positions are available under the recruitment notice:

• Position Titles: Registrar / Demonstrator / Resident Physician, etc.

• Total Posts: 620 vacancies

Scale of Pay

The salary for the positions will follow the Academic Level 10 pay scale, ranging from:

• Rs. 57,700/- to Rs. 1,82,400/- per month

• Additional allowances as per government rules.

Eligibility Criteria & Education Qualification :

Age Limit

The candidates applying for these positions must fall within the following age group as of 01/01/2023:

• Minimum Age: 21 years

• Maximum Age: 45 years

Relaxation in Age Limit

• For Persons with Disabilities (PWD): An additional 10 years relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided.

• For SC/ST/OBC Candidates: The same relaxation applies as per government norms.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must hold the following qualifications, as specified by the respective departments:

General Qualification Requirements for Registrar/Demonstrator/Resident Physician:

• Broad Specialty:

  • MD/MS/DNB/MDS in the relevant discipline from an accredited institution.

  • Candidates with qualifications from institutes recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or National Board of Examinations (NBE) or Dental Council of India (DCI) will be considered.

• Department-Specific Qualifications:

  • Anatomy: MS (Anatomy) or MSc (Medical Anatomy) with PhD in Medical Anatomy.

  • Biochemistry: MD (Biochemistry) or MSc (Medical Biochemistry) with PhD in Medical Biochemistry.

  • Physiology: MD (Physiology) or MSc (Medical Physiology) with PhD in Medical Physiology.

Super Specialty Qualifications:

• General Medicine: MD/DNB in General Medicine (for Super Specialty in Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, etc.)

• General Surgery: MS/DNB in General Surgery (for Super Specialty in Plastic Surgery, CTVS, Neurosurgery, Urology, Pediatric Surgery).

• Candidates with DM/M.Ch./DNB in the relevant Super Specialty will be given preference.

Preference for Contractual Doctors

Doctors who have worked under Rule 17A of MHRB Regulations or on contractual engagements with any health care institution under the Medical Education & Research Department will be given additional weightage in the recruitment process.

Eligibility for Serving Doctors

Doctors currently working under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Directorate of Health Services (DHS), National Health Mission (NHM), Assam, and other government agencies are eligible to apply. These candidates are not required to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the State Government when applying for these posts.

Recruitment Process

• For OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H) Categories: Rs. 150/-

Fee Payment Methods:

• Online Payment: Candidates can pay through the Government Receipt Accounting System (GRAS) at https://assamegras.gov.in.

• Offline Payment: Through a Treasury Challan under the Head of Account “0210-Medical and Public Health-01-Urban Health Services-800-Other Receipt”.

The treasury challan must be submitted during the interview process.

Terms and Conditions: 

i. Candidates need not submit any testimonials/certificate at the time of submission of online application. However, candidates have to produce their original testimonials regarding educational qualification, date of birth, caste, PWD, Treasury challan, working experience etc. along with the application form, at the time of interview. Self-attested copies of all testimonials/certificates will have to be submitted to the Board at the time of interview. 

ii. Application form, which is incomplete in any respect, such as, without photograph and signature, is liable to be rejected summarily. 

iii. Only those candidates who fulfill all the terms and conditions of the advertisement in Page 3 of 3 respect of the post for which they are applicants shall be entertained. Others need not apply. 

iv. Candidates who are in Govt. service (both State & Central) or in Govt. owned undertaking or other similar organizations etc. shall have to apply through proper channel, NOC is to be submitted in physical form directly to the Secretary, Medical and Health Recruitment Board Assam, ACMR Building, Near O/o the DME, Assam, Six Mile, Khanapara, Guwahati-22 and they will have to submit release order at the time of joining.
